THE HISTORY DOWN BELOW IN HELL'S DUNGEON
Before it became a well-known haunted attraction, this building served a very different purpose.
Hell’s Dungeon was once part of an Elder-Beerman department store, part of the Beerman Towns that supported families working in Dayton’s surrounding automotive industry. For years, the building served as a hub for shopping and everyday life in the community.
After the store closed, the building transitioned into a bingo hall that hosted regular gatherings and events. Eventually, the space was left vacant.
During this time, the building endured two separate fires, leaving behind damage and disruption, and unfortunately the loss of many lives.
Today, the space is known as Hell’s Dungeon during the Halloween season, when it operates as a large-scale haunted attraction.
But when the actors are gone and the lights are off, the building remains active.
Some spirits may be tied to the building’s past. Others may have arrived later.
The countless props, artifacts, and set pieces used throughout the attraction may have also introduced objects with their own histories and attachments.

During our first investigation inside Hell’s Dungeon, activity began almost immediately.

First-time investigators are absolutely welcome, and our team will make sure you feel comfortable and supported throughout the evening. However, this location can feel more intense than some of our other investigation sites, especially during late-night sessions. There are no windows in this building so it is ALWAYS dark inside no matter the time of day.

is this a guided investigation?
Not currently. While we provide a brief introduction and flashlight tour, the investigation itself is free-roam so guests can explore the building at their own pace. If you're interested in a guided option, stay tuned because we are going to add tickets for that in the near future!
Do I need paranormal equipment?
No experience or equipment is required. Guests are welcome to bring their own tools, but it’s not necessary to participate.
Is there food available?
Yes. The onsite concession stand is open during events, and we allow early entry so guests can eat before investigations begin.

The recommended age for Hell's Dungeon is 15 with an adult or parent present at all times.
