Old Putnam County Jail - Greencastle, IN
Guided or Free Roam Paranormal Investigation | Limited to 10 guests
Standing watch over downtown Greencastle at 123 W. Washington Street, the Old Putnam County Jail is one of Indiana’s most imposing and historically rich buildings, and soon, one of the newest locations you’ll be able to investigate with Eerie Excursions.
Originally serving Putnam County from 1878 to 1995, the current jail structure was built in 1939, shortly after John Dillinger and his gang famously robbed the bank across the street. Yes… that Dillinger. The facility was designed under the direction of a former Alcatraz superintendent, featuring advanced locking systems and reinforced construction modeled after mid-20th-century prison design, remarkably similar to those used on Alcatraz Island.
